I. Research on Targeted Poverty Alleviation Policies

We take Xin County in Henan Province as the pilot research area, coordinate between the poverty alleviation system and the education system, collect the administrative data, conduct surveys, aiming to build the world's first high-quality database for individuals and households in extreme poverty in rural areas. We have published the report "Evaluation on the Effect of Targeted Poverty Alleviation Policies" and initiated a dozen of working papers on this topic. We also have published four columns in newspapers such as Social Science Weekly , Securities Daily and Study Times , providing decision-making references for the government, and research resources for the academia and the public.

II. International Cooperation and Application of Input-output Analysis

We launched China's chronological input-output table project in April 2019, and released the mid-term results in November 2019. We compiled China's input-output tables 1978-2017 chronologically for the first time, providing data support for China's macroeconomic analysis and policy analysis.

III. Survey on China's Unemployment Rate

The survey on unemployment rate plays an important role in macroeconomic observation, and the unemployment rate is one of the important references for formulating corresponding social security, fiscal and monetary policies. We launched the project in May 2019 and carried out the survey which has achieved phased resultsin an all-round way. We released the results twice via two achievement release conferences. Leaders of the State Council speak highly of the results we have released.

IV. A Prospective Study of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plans

We launched the project in May 2019, and released the phased research results--the report "A Prospective Study of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Renmin University Approach”, in December 2019. The final research results--the book China's Economic Outlook 2019-2025: After Per Capita Income Reaching US$ 10,000 are expected to be published in 2020.
